Coca‑Cola HBC Armenia partnered USAID in efforts to improve water stewardship across Armenia and particularly contribute to conservation, effective use and management of water resources in Ararat valley.

In July, 2016 Coca‑Cola HBC Armenia, United States Agency for International Development and Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with intention to cooperate for improving the use and conservation of water resources in Armenia. The parties seek to share their respective strengths, experiences, technologies, methodologies, and resources (including human, in-kind, and monetary) in order to achieve the following goals:

· Improve water stewardship across Armenia

· Improve water conservation in the Ararat Valley

· Improve effective water use in the Ararat Valley

· Improve water management in the Ararat Valley

Following the MOU, irrigation of over 40 ha agricultural lands in Hayanist community has been restored. The partnership is aimed at improving water stewardship across Armenia, in particular contributing to conservation, effective use and management of water resources in Ararat valley. Further, the parties will contribute to the installation of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems at fish farms to improve water management on a greater area facing groundwater shortages.
